The Stage Local Summer Audition Intensive is a 4-week training experience designed for performers who are ready to grow in confidence, technique, and audition skills in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Whether students are newer to auditions or already actively performing, this intensive is designed to help performers strengthen their skills while learning what it takes to walk confidently into an audition room.
Students will receive hands-on coaching in:
Vocal audition technique
Song selection and audition cuts
Acting through song
Dance call confidence and quick pickup skills
Performance quality and storytelling
Mock audition experiences and audition etiquette
Perfect for performers interested in:
Community and school theatre auditions
Building confidence as performers
Strengthening musical theatre technique
Future opportunities such as college auditions and programs like the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts

Tuition
$425 total tuition
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at registration and will be applied toward tuition. Remaining balance will be drafted June 15, 2026.
Limited to 12 performers.
What Should Performers Bring?
Students should come prepared to move, participate, and grow in a supportive and encouraging environment!
Recommended Items:
Comfortable clothing they can move in
Jazz shoes, character shoes, or clean sneakers for dance class
Water bottle
Pencil/highlighter for notes
A binder or folder for music/materials
Their current audition book/materials if they have them (optional)
Students are encouraged — but not required — to bring:
A prepared song they are currently working on
Audition cuts or sheet music
Questions they may have about auditions, performance, or theatre training
Most importantly, students should come ready to learn, support one another, and step outside their comfort zones!

Absolutely! While this intensive is designed for performers who are ready to grow and challenge themselves, students do not need extensive theatre experience to participate. We welcome performers who are eager to learn, build confidence, and strengthen their skills in a supportive environment.

Not at all. While some students may be interested in college auditions or programs like the Tennessee Governor’s School for the Arts, this intensive is also a great fit for performers involved in community theatre, school productions, or students simply looking to grow in confidence and performance skills.

This intensive is open to performers ages 13+ and adults. Classes will be structured in a way that creates a supportive and encouraging environment for both teens and adult performers

Yes! Optional private coaching may be available for an additional fee throughout the intensive.

Yes! A Stage Local staff member will be on site each evening alongside our teaching artists to ensure students are safely checked in and dismissed at the end of the night. Parents are welcome to drop students off and return for pickup following classes.

Xandria Cross
Dance Instructor + Audition Prep
Xandria Cross is a dynamic choreographer and performing artist whose career over the past decade encompasses television, film, theater, and music.
As a passionate educator, Xandria has shared her love of the arts with students of all ages, from Pre-K to adults.
In 2022, she founded The Palace Players, a nonprofit theater company in Knoxville, TN, where she teaches and directs full-scale productions.
Choreography credits include Mary Poppins, White Christmas, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, Newsies, The Fantastiks, Into the Woods, The Little Mermaid, You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown and more!
On stage credits include: Judy Haynes (White Christmas), Spot Conlon (Newsies), Baroness Elsa Schraeder (The Sound of Music), The Witch (Into the Woods), Scuttle (The Little Mermaid), and featured dancer roles in Mary Poppins, Oliver and Anastasia.
It is her goal to inspire the next generation of performers to grow their God given gifts with excellence and she is thrilled to be working with the Stage Local team.
Rebekah Howell
Voice Instructor + Audition Prep
Rebekah Howell is a dramatic coloratura soprano, actress, and voice teacher whose career spans opera, musical theatre, and concert work. Known for a voice that moves effortlessly from bel canto to Broadway belt, recent performances include Sarah Brown in Guys & Dolls, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, the four heroines in Les contes d’Hoffmann, Cunegonde in Candide, Mother Abbess in The Sound of Music, The Witch in Into The Woods, and solo appearances with the Memphis Symphony Orchestra, Baton Rouge Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony, and LaPorte County Symphony.
A four-time finalist/semifinalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition and inaugural recipient of the Kurt Weill Award, Rebekah has completed residencies with Charlottesville Opera, Opera Colorado, Nashville Opera, Chautauqua Opera, and Hong Kong Disneyland. In the Southeast, she has also appeared with Opera Memphis, Knoxville Opera, and Studio Tenn.
As a teacher, Rebekah has worked with singers for over a decade through her Nashville-based private studio, Indiana University, and Belmont University. Her students have gone on to national tours, collegiate music programs, competitions, teaching careers, and leading musical theatre roles. She specializes in helping singers find freedom, confidence, and efficiency in their voices..

Registration for the Stage Local Summer Audition Intensive is completed through our Stage Local Prep Parent Portal powered by Studio Pro.
All participants — including adults ages 18+ — will need to create a parent/self account in Studio Pro in order to register for the intensive.
Registration Notes:
A valid card on file is required for registration.
A $100 non-refundable deposit is due at registration and will be applied toward tuition.
Remaining tuition balance will be automatically drafted on June 15, 2026.
Enrollment is limited to 12 performers.
Once registration is complete, families and adult participants will receive additional program details and communication through the parent portal and email.
