Stage Local is excited to bring our Stage Local Prep performing arts program back to Anchor Academy for 2026/2027!

Stage Local Prep is an engaging musical theatre enrichment class designed to help students build confidence, creativity, and performance skills in a supportive and encouraging environment. Structured similarly to our studio-based Prep program, students will explore the foundations of musical theatre through:

• Acting and drama games

• Storytelling and character development

• Scene work and improvisation

• Music and movement

• Performance skills and stage presence

Collaboration, creativity, and confidence-building

More Than Putting on a Show

Rather than spending the semester rehearsing one full-scale production, Stage Local Prep focuses on giving students a well-rounded performing arts education. This allows students to learn, create, take risks, and grow as performers while developing skills they can carry into future auditions, productions, and everyday life.

No previous theatre experience is required! Stage Local Prep is designed to be welcoming and encouraging for beginners while continuing to challenge students who already love being onstage.

Performance Opportunities

Anchor Academy students enrolled in Stage Local Prep will also have the opportunity to participate in the official Stage Local Prep Recital performances held each fall and spring semester!

These performances give students the excitement of taking the stage and sharing what they have learned without the intensive rehearsal schedule required for a full theatrical production.
